Telehealth and in person availability
If you are having a mental health emergency, please go to your nearest ER, CREP, or call 988.
I am intensively trained in evidence-based frameworks and treatments that allow me to provide a personalized approach to clients. These approaches include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems therapy, and Mindfulness-based therapy.
In the first session, you will begin to experience my style of approach. I will be looking to ensure that I have expertise in what you are struggling with and offer a way to envision what working together would look like.
There is no singular type of person who benefits from therapy. Generally, people who feel relieved that they took the step to explore therapy have been wrestling with patterns or pain for a long time. If you are struggling with intrusive or distressing thoughts, or feel as though thoughts such as these are interfering with who you are or how you function in relationships, therapy may be beneficial.
My goal is to put myself out of business. Therapy is available as long as it is useful, but not any longer than you need it. I want you to feel like you have better things to do than meet with me!
I do! I love in person, but we have proven over and over than outcomes of therapy are not effected by being provided online.
You can access your OON benefits, and I will help you seek reimbursement for services (courtesy billing). This means that I bill for my sessions the day we meet, and then my office manager will utilize our billing company to submit for reimbursement. If you have questions about what your benefits look like, you can check with this link: https://practitioner.reimbursify.com/verifast?ec=1H5A5A9I3C
Research confirms again and again that chemistry and a good fit are correlated with the best outcomes. If you believe that I understand what you are experiencing, and that my treatment plan makes sense to you, that is a great start!
I will probably feel or see this too! By then, I will have enough of an understanding of you to connect you with a colleague who will be a great fit with the expertise that you need or has a more compatible approach.
Many people use therapy to address barriers to success and happiness. You may want help moving forward with gusto or need help processing something. This is absolutely an appropriate use of therapy!
Email me! That is the best way to start. tracy@claritytherapycny.com
This is a great conversation to have. I love to talk about perfectionism or imposter syndrome experiences that haunt you. You have tried to get rid of this feeling, and argue with it, but it won't go. I have some other ways to work toward resolving these feelings.
This is likely because the cause or core issue has not been understood. This is often the case of therapy that has been focused on getting rid of thoughts, symptoms, or pain that have not been fully understood.
Great question! In the beginning, I prefer to meet weekly or biweekly. This helps us have an ongoing conversation, rather than having to reintroduce ourselves to each other each session. However, I recognize that there are so many things that inform this decision. We will make sure this is a decision that works for all.
Intensive therapy is therapy scheduled for 90 minutes or more. Intensive therapy is for times when we are under a timeline crunch where we need to resolve things quickly, or for when it would make a big difference to cover a lot more ground for some time. If this is something you are interested in, you can ask. I will only bring it up if I think it is necessary.
Yes. EMDR can be very effective for long-standing issues like anxiety, imposter syndrome, or deep-rooted feelings of inadequacy. EMDR targets specific memories or beliefs that fuel these patterns, helping you process them in a way that reduces their emotional charge. By reprocessing distressing memories or limiting beliefs, EMDR can help you shift your perception of yourself and your life experiences, and bring you more emotional freedom.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) uses bilateral stimulation and a specific protocol or practice to resolve and process mast material, traumas, and old pain. It allows for the brain to use processes that help it make memories of ideas and experiences that currently haunt you in one way or another.
EMDR has a place in any disorder that is diagnosable and can also be used for resource development, confidence building, and performance.
