I have ADHD. I also happen to specialize in diagnosing and treating it in adults, which either makes me extremely qualified or means I have a personal stake in getting this right. Probably both.
Since 2006, I've worked with people whose brains don't run on the standard operating system — high relapse rates, "treatment-resistant" patterns, the stuff other providers had already tried and moved on from. Turns out failure doesn't discourage me. It makes me more curious. If you've been told you're "too complicated" or "a hard case," I'd genuinely love to prove that wrong.
My style: active, direct, and collaborative. I'm not going to nod quietly from across the room while you do all the work — I'm in it with you, and I'll probably make a joke at some point, because apparently that's just how my brain processes heavy things too.
My most recent role was at St Joseph's Hospital Health Center as the Clinical Staff Educator for the Outpatient Clinic. I've been interviewed in print, radio, and television on mental health, co-occurring treatment, integrated treatment, and substance abuse topics.
I've held various positions such as therapist, licensure supervisor, Internship director, Clinical Staff Educator, educational grant manager, and program development specialist, reflecting my diverse skill set and commitment to clinical sustainability.
For the past fifteen years, I've dedicated a significant amount of time to training therapists as an adjunct professor, participating in conferences, consulting, and delivering training sessions. I've also served on boards related to clinical internships, care initiatives, educational grants, and program development.
I have held positions at Syracuse University and Tompkins County Community College, as well as agencies such as the NYS Office of Mental Health, Helio Health, Tompkins County Mental Health, Circare, Arise, and Liberty Health, training staff on effective treatment approaches and teaching undergraduate courses.
My interests lie in Women's Mental Health, Pregnancy and Postpartum Disorders, Reproductive Mental Health, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, PTSD, and mood disorders, reflecting my holistic approach to mental health care and advocacy.
